With all due respect, I find the people most knowledgable about trade in promotions are (in order)
2) posters in this forum
3) in-store gaming CSRs
4) online/phone support CSRs
To point lordsofshaolin to the customer service line would probably drag out his ordeal. Any time I've contacted them they've just sent me back to the store, as trade ins are not something that can be dealt with remotely.

It's clear Phone CS wouldn't be any help about this and it's a fact in store CS/gaming section CS weren't either.
That is the very reason i bothered to sign up and post here...

Just a reminder that this community is a not setup to handle Customer Service issues.
From time to time you will have employees post new and updates on stuff but just remember that they are not mandated to officially post on the community.

And now for the 3rd strike...the trade list got changed today and one of my 2 games isn't in the list anymore. It was in it yesterday though. And i'm again screwed here because of the lack of competance/preparations of FS employees.
I guess nothing can be done about this?
Did you try going in and speaking with the Entertainment Manager? He/she is in-charge of the gaming department and should be the most knowledgeable of all the Entertainment employees.
You could also try a different store. Sometimes one store may be clueless, but others are totally on-the-ball.
I value my store because they have very competent staff that know their way around the system.
If you get stuck with an employee who does not know what to do, you can suggest that they call different stores too. I've seen some employees call neighbouring stores for instructions on how to process an offer.

Some stores might not be aware of this trade and pre-order promo, if they are unsure on how to do it, nicely ask them to look-up the weekly 'plays' for directions located within FS internal retail gateway.
To simplify things, the trade 2 for pre-orders promo follows the same procedures as any other game trade-in method.
1. Ensure the two titles of the game is on the futureshop.ca/usedgame website.
2. Process the two games with their repective values into a giftcard.
3. Use the full giftcard amount towards the pre-order (It must be done by 'layaway' to use up the full amount)
4. Customer must keep both receipt, one for trade-in games and one for layaway.
5. come back on release day and pickup the game. (use the layaway and use the house account to zero out remainder of the amount.)
I hope this clarify some things, but don't quote me on this.....only use this as a reference. For associates, full details on the procedure is in the retail 'plays'. (Hopefully, I'm allow to post this....if not, mod please edit it.)
Anyways, It's a new process for trade-in, it's gonna take some time before every store is able to execute this process perfectly. Please give the associate some time to figure this out, playing nice will help us all in the long run. If some stores are still confused, like above poster said....feel free to ask your neighbor store

I'm not disagreeing with you on that matter and that is why I posted the procedure on the forum for the people that are having trouble they can refer to this. Hopefully this would speed up the process for the ones that want to take advantage of this promo.
