Trade in example?

Hi,

i know the trade in game value depends on the "National Inventory Control System" and bla bla bla....

i just need an example (emphasis on EXAMPLE).

Lets say i take my Uncharted 3 PS3 Game TODAY, how much money will i get?

Be aware, AGAIN, i dont want to know the REAL price by your National Inventory CS, i just need an example... could it be between 30-40 dollares? 10-20?

What ever your answer is, im not going to go to FS and say... "hey, on the website someone told me bla bla bla"... i just need an example on how much money i get over the price on site for the new game.

puff... :smileywink:

BTW, if FS cannot answer this, can some nice user here give me an idea? :smileyhappy:

Re: Trade in example?

Hi, we dont typically give out trade in values on the forum. You can contact your local Future Shop store for the actual value.

However, you would get roughly $30-$35 for Uncharted 3 at FS. This is subject to change though.

Thanks.

Re: Trade in example?

Thank you, this is exactly what i was looking for, an estimate idea (even when it could change in the next 2 seconds).

Honestly, i did not have any idea if i could get 5 dollares, 10 or 30... :smileyhappy:

Looks like is worth the trouble going to the store to check the real price etc..etc.. :smileyhappy:

I've seen the online trade-in value list and it is garbage.  It is old and outdated and has nothing to do with your local Future Shop.

The only way to know for sure is to visit your local shop.  Each shop differs too on how many copies it can accept of a certain title, so the only way is to go in and inquire.

Re: Trade in example?

I wouldn't call it garbage. I've checked it a number of times in the past prior to trading in, and it's generally in the ballpark, which is all the poster wanted anyway. Of course you can't take it as gospel, but if you just want to poke around trade-in values on the couch without running out to 3 different stores, then it's actually a pretty nice resource to have. Better for newer games, but at least they have the date next to each title and location so you can see just how horribly out to date some of the posted values are!

Re: Trade in example?

We are exploring different trade in systems right now but nothing has been confirmed at this time.

The best bet on an accurate trade in values amount is to call or visit your local Future Shop. Online websites are often dated and does not reflect true trade in values for FS.

Re: Trade in example?

When I last looked at the online TIV list, it was way off base for the games which I had looked up.

Furthermore, even though they give you a number, each Future Shop has different inventory and some will simply not accept any more copies of a specific title because they have reached their quota.  So it doesn't matter what the TIV list tells you, your local FS may give you $0 for your game.

The most value you will get from trade-ins is on newer games.  So if you are a fast gamer, that is the best scenario for you.  I am not one of those people.  Games sit on my shelf for months at a time before getting played so by the time I realize that I don't want it, they are worth peanuts anyway.

As a result, I usually wait for game sales before purchasing.  Unless it's a must-have game like FF XIII-2!:smileyhappy:

Re: Trade in example?

Fair enough. It will always be subjective from experience to experience. All I really meant to say was that for newer games, it's pretty reliable for a ballpark figure. Right now they have Uncharted 3 listed twice at $35 with refence dates of Dec. 24 2011 and Jan 8, 2012. I really don't think that's a bad estimate, as a first alternative to travelling to the store...
