"$10 game credit towards any gaming purchase $19.99" promotion invalid for trade-ins?

Hi, a CSR told me that the $10 game credit printed on my receipt for Guild Wars 2 was not valid because I had traded-in for the game, rather than using cash/credit. But in June I was able to use the $10 game credit on my Diablo 3 receipt, which I had gotten through trade-in.

Thanks.

I'm pretty sure that CSR was misinformed.. As far as I know, it shouldn't matter if you traded for it, or paid cash.  I'm pretty sure I've seen one of the Head Office Product Buyers say that it doesn't matter, but I can't remember where they said it, so I can't reference it.

You shouldn't have to keep going back to find a different csr just to get them to do what they are advertising.   Make a compalint to Head Office and get them to arrrange for it to be honoured properly.  You'd think telling the game buyers here about the problems would get things resolved but obviously that isnt the case.  If you hit a dead end pm me and i'll give you a specific unadvertised person who will get it fixed

Interesting... This process should be pretty fool proof at the store level. As long as you have your receipt with coupon code, and are making either a new or used game game purchase with retail value of $19.99 or greater, the discount will apply in our systems.

I'll send out a refresher to stores on how to process these correctly through our operations team. The challenge sometimes is that every department has a set of weekly plays, but the CSRs don't have time to read, and memorize all of them.

I've always hated how some employee's feel that trading for a game doesn't entitle you to the same promotions/free items as buying the games does. That seems to be chaging for the most part with the evolution of the trade in program, but it's unfortunate that events like these still happen.

I have another question regarding the $10 coupons.    Are we allowed to use more than 1 per visit?   It says 1 per purchase,  I assume it says that so that people don't try to use multiple coupons on the same item?     But, if I had 4 coupons, and 4 different items..  I should be able to use them all, right?

i've purchsed 2 seperate games with 2 seperate receipt coupons in on visit. the only thing is they have to do the order seperately as the code would only work once per order. at least thats what they told me

This promotion is interesting and made me make more purchases at Futureshop.

I hope it will be back soon :smileyhappy:
