what is the return policy on used video games?

If the video game has been opened and was purchased less than 30 days ago, it can be exchanged for the same game only. There are no refunds on opened software. You can read more about Future Shop's return policy here.

Future Shop will buy used video games, though. You can read more about Future Shop's used games program here.

can i return the game i don't want and get a different game that cost the same and that one i returned

If it's still sealed, you have the original receipt, and it was not part of a 'package' you can return your game and get it's full value returned within 30 days of purchase.
