Re: klipsch VS Polk Audio...
[ Edited ]

Thanks for the question.

I will apologize for my lack of supporting information. I have the Klipsch RF62, with the RPW-10 subwoofer, the RC-10 center channel, and the RS42 rear speakers. This set is powered by the Pioneer VSX-9120TXH receiver. And I couldn't be happier. I personally have never had a set of Polk speakers, so I cannot attest to their quality.

The Klipsch have a very distinctive sound from their horn design, which some like and some do not. It's a matter of personal preference. Another thing I love about my Klipsch is how efficient they are, they do not require much power (although the receiver has plenty) to produce great sounds.

At this point I would recommend heading to the nearest store and have a listen to both speakers, and see which one sounds best to you. That's the toughest thing about speakers, what sounds good to me may not sound good to you

As for the price of these and if they are worth it. In my opinion yes, with no questions asked. I enjoy moderately loud music, high quality sound from my DVD's etc, as well as clean sound while watching TV, so it's a no-brainer to be able to buy the best I can afford. And as you said, it is an investment. With proper care these speakers should last a lifetime, and I bought them with that in mind. They may be something that could be handed down through the family. :smileyhappy:

I hope that helps you out some. If you have anymore questions, feel free to ask. I am sure the Home Audio Experts can add a bit more info to my reply that may help.
