I'm interested in finally getting a new television.  Its been over 10 years since I purchased one, and the ol' tube tv has been moved around enough that the 32" screen, is more like a 25" screen. 

I'm looking for a tv that is going to stand up against some hardcore gaming, and sports watching.

I was in Future Shop to see the  LG 42" Plasma HDTV (PQ Series).  The price seemed great at $600, but the sales person really wouldn't go into any features of the television other than they were "bad for screen retention", and would not recommend it to anyone. 

When I asked if there was anything comparable in price....he showed me two, a Toshiba and Samsung LCD models, but of course they also cost at least $150 more.

From all the research i've dug up there really isn't no difference between LCD and Plasma...

Was he really helping me out, or just trying to get me to buy something that they couldn't sell in the store?
