Thanks Morph. I believe it is Asus who will be the first to release dual core Atom netbooks soon.

Atom processors that appear to show 2-cores in tests have Hyper-Threading enabled.  There will be a dual-core Atom product but I believe it will come out for Nettop products first.

if you're ever unsure of the specs of a processor - go here : http://ark.intel.com  -  it's very technical though!

I'm just curious, but do some of Intel's Core 2 Solo processors have hyperhtreading enabled (showing 2 cores)??

Hi Chris-

Core 2 Solo does not support HT technology.

Let me know if you have other questions.

No processor from the Core and Core 2 families support Hyper Threading.

Currently, only the Core i7(it's not supported on the Core i5) and the Atom support it.

Until next time,

When will we see the Pine Trail systems arrive at Future Shop?  Apparently intel has given the go ahead for them to go for sale as of Jan 8th...

The only real benefit seems to be extended battery life, I'm curious to see how much they'll cost compared to the N270/280 systems currently available.

Re: How powerful is the processor in a netbook? Read more to find out...

I bought an HP Netbook for my 13 year old son. He needed something small to take to and from school. He uses it to write essays and search online. It is so slow getting anything online. Any advice?
