Re: I wanna buy a PSP 3000 console,How do I know the system version before I buy it?

System versions are hard to verify without turning the console on.

If there was an open box console, I'm sure the associates would open it up and turn it on for you to check the firmware. The consoles are often updated with minor revisions and their firmware as well. Not to mention that many games new games you'll play on it will usually have the console updated. For reference, the white Core 3000 was introduced the same time as the Assassin's Creed bundle, which I believe was late fall/early winter last year.

This particular PSP package is identical to the PSP Core 3000 Black console, which comes with no major accesories other than the battery, the outlet charger and of course manuals. No memory card, games or any other accessories save for a weekly promotion.

So to answer your title question, aside from Googling, your best bet would be to call around and see if any stores have open box units of it and go in and check out the firmware version in person.
