Need help getting TV sound on home theater system
[ Edited ]

Hi,

I have a Sony Bravia LCD TV (KDL-46W5100), Sony Home theater in a box (BDV-E500W) and Videotron HD terminal.  I have connected the HTIB to the TV with a  HDMI cable and the Videotron terminal to the TV with another HDMI cable.

Right now, I cannot get the TV sound on the Home theater speakers as I scroll through the all the different HTIB functions (e.g.,  TV, SAT/CABLE, AUDIO, etc.).  When I play a DVD I do hear the sound on the HTIB speakers.  I can only hear the TV using its own speakers and this is with HTIB function set at DMPORT, which makes no senses since the only thing I have connected to the DMPORT is the IPod stand.

Do I also need audio (red and white) and video (yellow) cable connections?  My understanding was that with HDMI you do not need additional cables.  The thing is even when I tried adding the audio and video cable connections between the home theater and TV, it did not change anything.

Would really appreciate any advice. PLEASE HELP!!!

Thanks.
