I have heard so many different answers to this question, and coming from a guy who has always had his TV mounted, I say play it by eye. Cut out a piece of cardboard the same size of the screen and have someone move it around on the wall where you want to mount it and see where it feels best for you. Personally I find that having the top of the TV at eye level when standing up is most comfortable.
