Hi,

I am planning on purchasing the Polk Audio 5.1 RM6750 speakers with Pioneer VSX-520 receiver.

I have a few questions, which the salesperson was not much help for. 

1. Are the speakers and the receiver a good combination. This is my first home theatre system and I didn't want to spend too much money, yet at the same time did not want to be disappointed by the sound quality. Is there a better bang for the buck which has more features? My room is 25 by 15.

Plan on connecting xbox 360, hdpvr and laptop with it. Don't have a bluray dvd player; will be using the 360 to play dvds and watch movies through laptop.

2. I want to connect my laptop with it but the laptop only has a vga cable. I usually connect my laptop using a vga-to-vga to the TV with a 3.5 mm to 3.5 mm stereo cable. But I was wondering how to enable 5.1 sound. I checked and the 3.5 mm is not SPDIF compatible.  I am clueless about this.

3. Would the HDPVR box play digital audio through hdmi cable or would I have to get a digital audio cable? Same goes for the 360.
