Have to agree Hans Zimmer has done some great soundtracks among them Gladiator.  I also like music that fits like a glove to the scene and Barber's adagio for strings from Platoon does this.

Avatar has a great soundtrack too.  I gotta give kudos to that James Horner

Some great soundtracks here! Hans Zimmer is my personal favorite, for his brilliant TDK soundtrack.

Can't wait to see what Hans Zimmer is gonna be doing for The Dark Knight Rises!

I also like the 2009 Star Trek's soundtrack, and Disney-Pixar UP's (digital, sadly) soundtrack is great as well.

For music in general right at this time would be Nicki Minaj - Pink Friday. For all girls/women who need female empowerment if you're having a bad day listen to either "I'm the best" or "Fly" ft. Rihanna.
