For gaming, it's the graphics hardware that will impact your performance more than anything else.  The Gateway you looked at there has the best graphics card by a large margin, so I would recommend that out of those choices.  It's also the best graphics hardware you will probably find in that price range.  As for the rest of the specs in it, they're definitely 'good enough' at that price. :smileyhappy:

Re: Which laptop for gaming?

Sorry for the late reply. For gaming, your best choice is your first link at $749.99:

Gateway 15.6" Intel Core i3-330M 2.13GHz Laptop (NV5909H) - Black

Gateway 15.6" Intel Core i3-330M 2.13GHz Laptop (NV5909H) - Black

With a ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5650, one of the best laptop video card on the market, it's the perfect laptop for gaming under $1400. The processor is also quite fast for a laptop in this price range. Add the 4GB of RAM and the 640 GB HDD and you got a well pretty good computer. Just don't expect to be able to play games for too long when your computer is running on the battery.

Until next time,

Or even no game at all on the battery, most laptops were not built to handle gaming on the battery. You might get horrible gaming performance from the battery and have no problem whatsoever while using the power cord!

Besides, that computer is a really good deal!
