Re: what the difference between playstation 160 KB and 250 KB

The 160GB console was the original style of the console, known as a "fat" console (larger in physical size) while the 250GB (and the 120GB) are the newer "slim" consoles.

The slims, aisde from varying sizes of hard drive space, also run a little bit quieter, cooler and as many PS3 owners around the world found out this past March 1st, the slims are a little less buggy than the fats.

If you're looking into a Playstation 3, I'd recommend a 120GB if you're just going to use it for basic game use and movie watching. The 120GBs are less expensive than the 250GBs, so you're saving more money to spend on the games, movies and accessories!

its GB not Kb, and the the 160 model is the fat model.... the 250 one does not come with a game, but the 250 gb is 33% smaller, lighter and less energy consuption...  you have the card slots to put in memory cards from cameras and etc in the 160 model, i believe. u save money with the 250 model cuz less electricity bill

There's also the option of buying in a new hard drive later on, since the PS3 lets you install your own 2.5" hard drives. You can get a 500GB hard drive for about $90 these days.

Keep in mind though, that you would need to open up the PS3 to install such a hard drive.  This would more than likely void any warranties that you have.

Upgrading the hard drive on the PS3 by following Sony's steps will not void the warranty.  They're nice about that. :smileywink:

What about the FS PSP?  Is it one of those things where if it won't void the manufacturer's warranty, it won't void the store's extended warranty?

I can't say for sure, but there have been some repairs I've seen where the PSP initially declined a repair, but when the customer proved that the manufacturer's warranty would normally cover it, they changed their minds.  So typically, if it's covered by the manufacturer's warranty, then PSP will cover it.  If you want something definitive though, you'll probably have to call the company that handles the PSP. (or customer support maybe)
