I was told upon laptop exchange that I can not get a new...
I was told upon laptop exchange that I can not get a new Norton disc even though it can be used on up to 3 computers but that one I exchanged no longer is of use to me, so why can I not get that Norton use back simply inthe for of a new disk?

Re: I was told upon laptop exchange that I can not get a new...

Hello,

Retail policies unfortunately do not permit returns or exchanges of software (with rare exceptions made to a physical cd but not the associated product keys). In the case where a product such as Norton has three licenses the software can certainly be reinstalled and used legally on up to 3 machines. It is not possible for a retailer to “de-activate” an active license agreement which is why it is not possible to conduct a refund or exchange (the product in question has a time sensitive license agreement).

If you have exchanged your laptop it is likely that you would still require anti-virus protection. You have not lost a “license” to run the software by conducting an exchange and are still able to use the product on 3 computers actively.

Hope this answers your question

Powerpipes is correct, you can still use the Norton licenses on three computers.  So long as it is only installed and running on three computers at any time, you should be just fine.  If you ever encounter any problems, just contact Norton support, explain what happened to them and they should be happy to help you resolve the issue.
