You can always do that. You'll just have to buy the new model.

You won't be able to walk in and do a trade for the new iPad with your old one.

Future Shop did have a promotion a few months after the iPad 2 was released, where you could trade in an iPad 1 and get credit towards a new iPad 2. Though there likely won't be any special promotions during the first few months the iPad 3 is out, I wouldn't be surprised if there was a trade-in promotion eventually.

I noticed in the fine prints of the trade-in program page, it reads:

"iPads will be refurbished and resold after trade-in."

My question is:  when will these refurbuished iPads be available for sale?
