Apple Headphones-are they covered?

So about exactly one year ago I bought a 32GB iPod touch.

Recently, the remote on it stopped working. The mic didn't work and I couldn't change the volume/track using the remote on the headphones.

I bought a 3 year warranty on the iPod touch for about an extra $80. Does that mean that I can get my headphones replaced?

And if so, would I take it to a Future shop, or call a number, or call apple support?

Re: Apple Headphones-are they covered?

Where did you buy the extended warranty from? If you are past the 1 year manufacturer's warranty and you bought the extended warranty from Future Shop, then you can bring it in to your local Future Shop for assistance. If you instead purchased Apple's extended warranty through Apple, or if the device is still covered under the manufacturer's warranty, you will want to call Apple support.

I hope that helps!

Re: Apple Headphones-are they covered?

I bought the warranty from a nearby Future Shop store (Product Service Plan). Should I call future shop support to be sure to bring it back to the store? And do you think I will have to mail my iPod + headphones away, or will I get a replacement on the spot?

Re: Apple Headphones-are they covered?

Since you have a PSP, you should simply have to bring your headphones in and you'll be given a replacement set. If you have your receipt, that will make things a bit easier, but if not, all you need is the phone number that you registered your PSP under and they'll be able to pull up your information.

Go right to the customer service desk when you get to the store to have your exchange processed.

Hope that helps!

Yup, Juice0904 should be correct (unless things changed recently).  You can find the terms and conditions for the Future Shop Product Service Plan here:
